Building Colorado’s Next Generation Workforce

Overview

The Construction Education Foundation was founded in 1999 as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to construction industry workforce development in Colorado. Funded by industry partners, government grants, private and public support, CEF creates workforce development opportunities through education, training programs, and scholarships. CEF’s efforts lead to sustainable pathways toward great careers in construction for both high school students and adults.

MISSION

Our mission is to recruit, develop, and serve students of the construction industry by promoting innovative educational pathways to rewarding careers in an inclusive, highly-skilled and prosperous construction workforce.

GOALS

  • Help place 45,000 skilled trades workers by 2027
  • Build and enhance coalitions within the educational community, governmental agencies, and the private sector
  • Build awareness of the many rewarding career opportunities in our industry
  • Funnel young people into programs designed to prepare them to enter the workforce
  • Continue to promote integration of Career Technical Education (CTE) into our public education system, including construction technology
  • Continue to promote and support diversity within our construction industry
  • Meet the demand for sustained annual support dollars for construction workforce development programs

DIVERSITY, EQUITY AND INCLUSION

Diversity, equity and inclusion are very important to us. The Construction Education Foundation is very focused on making sure that our programs offer opportunities for education and eventual career employment (the end game) for all ethnicities and genders. We collaborate, partner and utilize insights provided to us from associations and organizations that have strong relationships within our diverse community including the Hispanic Contractors of Colorado (HCC), Black Chamber, Black Construction Group, African-American Trade Association, Hispanic Chamber, City and County of Denver’s CEI committee, Colorado Contractors Association (CCA), CORE/WORKNOW and the Conference of Minority Transportation Officials (COMTO).

Help us build a strong community and economy through workforce development.
